Teamwork Englewood Launches LargeLots.org

Teamwork Englewood is pleased to announce the launch of LargeLots.org.

On March 20, 2014 the City of Chicago announced the Large Lot Program as a new vehicle for homeowners to purchase City-owned vacant lots on their block for $1. The program is being piloted in Englewood, West Englewood, Washington Park and parts of Greater Grand Crossing and New City.

The Large Lot Program is a policy innovation that emerged from resident input during the 18-month Green Healthy Neighborhoods land use planning process. Resident groups like the New Birth Block Club Coalition and the Resident Association of Greater Englewood worked closely with city planners to develop the program and gauge interest among local homeowners.

LargeLots.org serves a twofold purpose. First, Teamwork wanted to deliver a simple, intuitive way for local homeowners to find eligible City-owned lots on their block. Second, we wanted to support interested homeowners with a guide to understand and navigate the Large Lot Program application process.

Teamwork Englewood thanks LISC/Chicago and DataMade for working with us to design and develop LargeLots.org. We believe the site will be a valuable tool for homeowners in Greater Englewood, as well as those in our neighboring communities.
