Spotlight: Chicago Women in Trades - Construction Job Opportunities

CTA, Metra and others will be breaking ground on major construction projects in and around our community.  Estimated at $100 million and over, these projects will provide employment opportunities for those with skilled trades.

During the recruitment sessions, participants will be asked to take a self-assessment quiz to find out if they have what it takes to work in trades.

Careers in the trades include carpentry, masonry, plumbing, welding and auto mechanics. CWIT is committed to increasing the number of women working in well-paid, skilled trade jobs traditionally held by men.  CWIT offers: an intensive 12 week training program to prepare women to enter the field, support services for experienced tradeswomen and the Tradeswomen of Tomorrow program for high school students.
