The first CTU strike in 25 years occurred on Sunday evening after an agreement was not reached between the Chicago Teacher Union and Chicago Public Schools. Citywide teachers are protesting and demanding a fair contract which would include fair students to teacher ratio, air conditioning in more class rooms and more support for the teachers.
Chicago Public Schools will have 147 Children First sites open on Tuesday, September 11. For alternative options for childcare, visit cps.edu/childrenfirst to sign up your child, or call 311.
