EWI & KKC Collaboration for "Unity Day"

On Unity Day, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 11:00am-2:30pm Kennedy-King College (KKC) and Teamwork Englewood in association with Chicago Foundation for Women will launch the inaugural “Clearing the Roadblocks” event. The collaboration supports the Englewood Women’s Initiative (EWI) that creates pathways to economic security. The morning session begins at 11:00am and the afternoon session begins at 1:00pm in room W240 at Kennedy-King College, 6301 South Halsted Street, Chicago.

The EWI equips women with the tools, skills and resources to put them on a path to good-paying jobs in the manufacturing and construction trades or entrepreneurship (earning at least $40,000/year) and long-term economic stability. Interested women that live in Greater Englewood may apply for the EWI online at and during the “Clearing the Roadblocks" event.

While service offerings are available to all women, priority will be given to EWI compliant participants who live in Englewood’s 60621 or 60636 zip code areas and earn less than $40,000 a year. Space is limited for the January 17 KKC event. Participants are encouraged to register in advance at:
