News—"The newspaper," according to its slogan, "that connects the Englewood community of Chicago."
The Connector is a project undertaken by St. Bernard Hospital with two aims:
First, it will inform the surrounding community of available services and activities at St. Bernard Hospital—but it doesn't end THERE!
Second, the Connector will highlight general interest stories that Greater Englewood's residents would have no hope of finding in the major dailies and certainly not on the evening news.
Good stories. Stories about good things. And good people. Get it?
Check out the inaugural issue, here. What's the story, for instance, behind the big mural that was done at 63rd and Parnell? You'll find out in the Connector. What course is Alderman Cochran charting for the 20th Ward? The Connector can tell you. How is Washburne Culinary at Kennedy-King College recruiting in Chicago high schools? It's worth knowing and the Connector can help.
Its stories like these that can reinforce a sense of community.
It is projected that The Englewood Connector will come out five times a year. Contributions are welcome, too!
