Free Quick Relief Inhalers for Englewood/West Englewood
The March issue of the Bee Line reports that Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago (RHAMC) and the Respiratory and Allergic Disease Foundation (RAD) recently joined together on an initiative to help uninsured asthma patients in Englewood and West Englewood obtain quick relief inhalers.
RAD Foundation generously donated coupons for free ProAir HFA albuterol Inhalers. They were able to make these available from a grant they received from Teva Specialty Pharmaceuticals. The Addressing Asthma in Englewood Project has been active in a four-year effort to improve
access to care and reduce hospitalizations for children with asthma in Englewood and West
Englewood.
The project is a joint venture between RHAMC and Dr. Victoria Persky at the University of Illinois, School of Public Health in collaboration with local partners. The project is funded in part by the Merck Childhood Asthma Network, Inc.
“Our team is thrilled to be able to help the Englewood and West Englewood communities in a way we can,” said Maureen Damitz, Project Director.
