Englewood Women's Initiative (EWI) Collaborative

The Englewood Women’s Initiative is presented by the Englewood Quality of Life Plan, Jobs and Economic Development Task Force

“The EWI compliments the Englewood Quality of Life Plan (QLP) agenda to create a healthy vibrant community by equipping Englewood women with the tools, skills and resources to secure economically viable careers that can sustain their families now and for future generations.  This program prepares women for highly skilled “legacy careers” in manufacturing, welding, and construction.  These are careers that their children are likely to continue because the skills will be needed to support the growing and evolving Englewood community.

We are very excited about the entrepreneurial training offered through the EWI. This initiative underscores the need for the QLP to develop an Englewood Women’s Business Council to provide ongoing support services for women entrepreneurs. The focus on child care businesses is particularly important because it responds to the expanding need for child care in Englewood.  We have a new generation of young people returning home and new residents choosing to settle in the greater Englewood community because it is a geographically desirable and an affordable place to raise their families.

Felicia Slaton Young. Champion of the Englewood Quality of Life Jobs and Economic Development Taskforce, and President of the Englewood Chamber of Commerce.
